The Macanudo Inspirado line has caught my attention with the Inspirado Red. It’s a bold, strong cigar with a full bodied flavor profile. I also have had the Inspirado Green, wich isn’t bad either, but a bit to light for me. The Limited Brazillian Shade, while also not really fulll bodied, scored slightly better in my book.
Now it’s time to try and smoke the Inspirado Orange.
Construction was, as I’m used from Macanudo so far, top notch: no soft spots, some fine veins, a nice reddish brown wrapper, and no visual defects.
The Inspirado Orange proved to be a great cigar: I was treated with a good draw and a near perfect burn. Most notable on the palate were Creamy notes, Nuts, Milk Chocolate, and a mild Leathery, Earthy tone. Towards the final part, some mild Spices kicked in.
All in all, the Inspirado Orange is clearly somewhat lighter and smoother compared to the Inspirado Red. A lot of people may actually prefer that mildness, as the Inspirado Orange is reportedly the best seller in the Inspirado line.
The Inspirado Orange is a cigar that I would smoke anytime, but when given the choice, I’d opt for the ‘Red’ as it has just has a little more ‘kick’ to it.
