I purchased this Cigar while on vacation in Puglia, Italy, in a small Tabacheria.
In Italy one can purchase cigarettes and mainstream cigars on about every corner, and while some shops offer long-filler cigars, storage conditions seems to be often hit or miss. To my suprise this little shop didn’t only have some humidors available, but even had a nice selection of premium cigars.
The Medio Tiempo immediately caught my eye by its magnificent dark wrapper. The quality looked top notch, while the cigar wasn’t all that expensive. I purchased a couple of them, but it wasn’t until we were packing again for a next trip to Italy, that I decided that it was time to finally try and taste the cigar.
Spoiler Alert: The CAO Medio Tiempo Magnifico is a truly great cigar that indeed delivers on its implied promise of quality and flavor. From the moment I lighted, I really felt spoiled.
The CAO Medio Tiempo Magnifico is a blend of Nigaraguan and Dominican tobaccos and this combination creates a unique flavor profile that is both bold and nuanced. Notes of spice, leather, and cedar are prominent throughout, with a hint of sweetness on the finish.
The complexity was perfectly balanced, the burn was near perfect, and while the draw was a slightly too thight, it was a wonderfull cigar.
